EBSCO company invites you to a series of webinars that will be held in January 2025. All webinars are free and conducted in Russian language. Each webinar lasts about 1 hour. During this practical lesson, we will review the user interface of the EBSCOhost platform, which contains numerous collections of electronic journals from global publishers. You will learn about the new features and tools, how to access EBSCO resources available in your organization, how to conduct a basic and advanced search, what limiters and expanders you can use when working with search results, how and why to use subject headings, how to check the availability of a journal on the platform and set up notifications about the appearance of new issues.

During this practical lesson you will learn how to effectively use the features available on the EBSCOhost platform, such as: saving articles to the cloud on Google Drive, citing an article, saving search history, creating and using a personal My EBSCOhost account, saving results to a folder, the ability to share selected information with your colleagues, creating alerts, exporting bibliographic data to programs such as Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote

January 24, 3:00PM (Astana time) – EBSCO Discovery Service VS Google Scholar – comparison of search capabilities. The advantage of using EBSCO Discovery Service when preparing a scientific publication
During this practical lesson, you will learn about the EBSCO Discovery Service search mechanism. We will look at how you can search all the resources available in your organization from one search window, apply limiters and expanders, and compare searching through EBSCO Discovery Service and Google Scholar.
