Training Sessions in January 2025 from Oxford University Press
Dear university instructors and students!
The Training department of Oxford University Press will conduct Training Sessions in English language on “Creating awareness” of “How to Publish with Oxford Journals”.
The training is complimentary, and students, teachers and librarians are free to attend.
There will be three sessions on “How to Publish with Oxford Journals” scheduled in the month of January -2025.
“How to Publish with Oxford Journals” – A two-hour session covering the basics of getting published.
The topics covered would be –
- Differences between a thesis and an article
- How to write a manuscript
- Types of journal manuscripts
- How to select which journal you want to write for
- OUP & DORA – Journal metrics in the context of how they’re calculated
- Initiative for Open Citations (I4OC)
- Credit Taxonomy – Levels as a Researcher
- How do you upload a manuscript on the OUP platform – Article submission process
- The journal publishing cycle
- What is Open Access – Kinds of Open Access
- Understanding Read & Publish – How it benefits your Institution
Learning Outcome: This session will help you determine whether you are ready to publish your work, discuss the manuscript forms available, and highlight points to consider when choosing the right journal for your research. At the end of the session the learner will be able to walk away with an understanding of the publishing process and the steps you should follow when preparing to publish for the first time.
